Dispur Revenue Circle conducts eviction drive in Guwahati City

Guwahati: Amid several complaints by the local people in Bunda area near Panikheiti of Guwahati city, the Dispur Revenue Circle conducted an eviction drive on Friday to clear the illegally occupied Government lands.

As per reports provided by the Revenue Circle office, they evicted one motor vehicle garage owned by one Biju Sharma of Bunda area. Also, four other illegally constructed shops were evicted today by the Dispur Revenue Circle.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Dispur Revenue Circle Officer, Dhrubojyoti Hazarika said, “We have received several complaints from the local people and found that the area falls under Northeast Frontier Railways and Dispur Revenue Circle zone. These are not (patta) lands, thus, none can construct any buildings in those lands. One motor vehicle garage was evicted during the operation. We have also evicted four more shops which were illegally occupied in the area.”

It may also be mentioned that the Dispur Revenue Circle further would launch more eviction drives for encroaching the Government lands illegally in the area.
