Girl Child Week Celebrated In Kohima

KOHIMA: Mahila Shakti Kendra along with DTF BBBP, celebrated Girl Child Week on the theme “Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow” at the Government Middle School, Longleng block on Thursday. The main objective of the celebration is to make the girl child aware of her rights and facts of life and to address the girl child issues associated to their health, respect, education, nutrition, etc. GMS, Block Headmaster, K Phaulem in his welcome speech, appreciated the DTF, BBBP & MSK, Longleng, for organizing such a programme and also added that it was the first programme conducted exclusively for girl students in their school, stated a DIPR release.
