Guwahati born MBBS student Nikumoni Kakoti drowns in Ukraine

Guwahati: Guwahati born student, who was studying medicine in Ukraine, is reported to have drowned to death on Monday morning. The student, identified as Nikumoni Kakoti hails from Ganeshguri in Guwahati and was pursuing his medical studies in the country.

Nikumoni was the only son of Dhiren Kakoti and Deepanjali Kakoti and his death have appeared to be an irreparable loss to his parents. Heartbroken and devastated, his parents are dumbstruck at the sudden turn of their fate. Notably, Nikumoni was supposed to visit his family in his hometown on June 12, 2019, and receiving this unfortunate news of his death instead of his homecoming was unforeseen for his family.

He was a second-semester MBBS student of a medical college in Ukraine. The reason for his drowning is not known yet with the investigations in progress.

Although this is yet to be known whether Nikumoni's death by drowning is accidental or have any mystery behind it, it is only with the investigation and its updates, that the actual reason behind the death of the upcoming talent could be known. However, the sudden death of the youth and that is too just two days before his departure for hometown is suspicious and calls for a thorough probe.

Such matters of meritorious boys going abroad or out of the state for higher studies and losing their life has been quite frequent and worth a worry for the parents. The loss a family suffers from due to the sudden death of a promising future is beyond words. This isn't the only instance of Assam children going out and embracing sudden death as another similar incident had happened in the month of April this year when another Assam student was drowned to death in Rajasthan. The deceased youth was Rahul Bezbaruah of Guwahati who was pursuing higher studies at Mewar University in Chittorgarh. Rahul had drowned in a pond near the university premises.
