New Smart City Projects Taken Up By Guwahati Smart City Limited (GSCL)

GUWAHATI: Under Guwahati Smart City Limited (GSCL) three projects have already been completed, two projects are underway and five other new projects have been taken up.

Guwahati Development Department (GDD) Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharjee informed the State Assembly of this recently while replying to an unstarred question. He said that Rs 74 lakh of the Rs 2,09,41,791 sanctioned has already been released for 20 Anytime Water projects. The work has been over. According to the minister, Rs 64 lakh of the Rs 9,53,60,520 sanctioned for twenty bio-toilets has been released. The projects are over.

The minister said that the job of erecting the National Flag atop the Gandhi Mandap Hill was given to GSCL by the State Industries and Commerce Department. The work is over, but the money has not been released by the department. The beautification work of Gandhi Mandap is underway, and phase I of Project Jyoti is going on, he said. The new projects taken up by GSCL are the development of Brahmaputra bank, conservation and development of Borsola Beel and Deepor Beel, electricity projects in main roads, phase II of Project Jyoti etc.
