‘One Billion Rising’ campaign in Shillong

Shillong: Expressing solidarity towards women education and empowerment and rasing our voice towards violence against women, Aide et Action, Shillong through its iLEAD programme (Initiative for Livelihood Education & Development) conducted a flash mob campaign to observe ‘One Billion Rising’, a global campaign, at Police Bazaar, Shillong on Thursday.

Students of iLEAD programme enthralled the audience through dance and placards which expressed a message to end violence against women through education. iLEAD is an initiative that strives towards the uplift of local youth through livelihood education programme, promoting micro enterprises besides moulding youths to be better citizens.
