PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) Moved At Plight of Assam Road

DIMORIA: In a rare of the rarest case, the PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) has instructed Dispur to improve the condition of a road under Dispur Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC). Following the instruction, work of the road has been started from Wednesday.

The Lakhitari-Borpak Road under Sonapur Revenue Circle is one that leads the residents of village Malaibari under Dispur LAC to the Malaibari branch of the SBI (State Bank of India). Malaibari has been declared a digital village by the SBI. However, the condition of the road is quite out of sync with the recognition which the village has got.

Despite repeated pleas to the government for the past three years, the plight of the road is pathetic. School and office goers have to wade through knee-deep water during the rainy season. The situation prompted a local youth, Kamal Krishna Deka, to write a letter to the Prime Minister on the condition of the road. The responsive PMO, through its letter (PMO PG/E/2019/0266072) registered on June 3, 2019 has asked the Commissioner and Secretary, Pension and Public Grievances Department, Assam Secretariat to take steps to improve the condition of the road.”
