Guwahati: The Southwest Monsoon-2019 has further advanced into some parts of central Arabian sea, remaining parts of Kerala, some parts of Karnataka, Tamilnadu, most parts of southwest Bay of Bengal, some more parts of central & north Bay of Bengal and northeast India today.

Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) now passes through Lat. 13˚N/Long. 60˚E, Lat. 13˚N/Long. 70˚E, Mangalore, Mysore, Salem, Cuddalore, Lat. 14˚N/Long. 86˚E, Lat. 20˚N/Long. 90˚E, Agartala, Lumding, Passighat and Lat. 29˚N/Long. 97˚E.

Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, remaining parts of Tamilnadu, some more parts of central Bay, north & south Bay and some more parts of northeast India and some parts of north Bengal and Sikkim in 2-3 days.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Southwest Monsoon was active over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura subdivision during past 24 hours.

Earlier on Monday, IMD informed that the Southwest monsoon has advanced to most parts of Mizoram and some parts of Manipur.

Southwest Monsoon had further advanced into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea & Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala, some more parts of Tamil Nadu, remaining parts of southeast Bay of Bengal, most parts of South-West & East-Central Bay of Bengal, some more parts of North-East Bay of Bengal, some parts of West-Central Bay of Bengal, most parts of Mizoram and some parts of Manipur.

Available data indicate that light to moderate rain occurred at most places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya with isolated very heavy falls over Meghalaya. Day temperatures no large changed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during last 24 hrs. Those were above normal over Manipur and normal over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya & Tripura.

Light to moderate rain occurred at most places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya with isolated very heavy falls over Meghalaya.

Day temperatures no large changed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
