Two dead as an ambulance meets road mishap while heading towards Guwahati

SHILLONG: Two people, including a patient, lost their lives while five others were seriously injured, when an ambulance heading towards Guwahati they were travelling in collided with a truck in the early hours of Tuesday at Shangbangla, Ri Bhoi district, Meghalaya.

According to the police, the incident happened at around 4 am on Tuesday morning. The two persons who lost their lives have been indentified as Gautam Roy (43) from Cachar district, Assam and Prahalad Das Vaishnab.

The others occupants of the ambulance who are seriously injured are – Saley Ahmad Barbhaiya, Anamika Vaishnab, Subir Bhawmik, Manoj Nath and Sanjay Malakar. All the injured persons are from Cachar district, Assam. The injured have been taken to the Nongpoh Civil Hospital for treatment.
