Army to Raise ‘Porter Company’ in Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR: The Army is planning to raise a porter company which would cater to the porter requirements of the force in various locations of Arunachal Pradesh.

A recruitment rally for West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh would be organized from August 17 to 20 next, an official communiqué said. As per locations, 440 porters are needed in the district and neighboring Shi-Yomi district including 290 at Monigong, 40 at Tato, 60 at Mechuka and 50 at Kaying. A recruitment rally is an important event for both the Army and the civil authorities as it would provide job needs of the local youths and porter needs of the Army.

The Army has sought all cooperation from the administration and the locals to make the event successful. All eligible candidates may contact Adjutant, 5 Kumaon and District Information and Public Relation Officer (DIPRO) Aalo, for details on the rally. The rally for Shi-Yomi district would be held at a later date, the communiqué added.
