ITANAGAR: Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) inked a MoU with Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB). Chief executive officer (CEO)-cum-SMD, Tabin Siga and Chairman, APRB, Dr Deepak Kumar Gupta signed the MoU. Terming the day as historic for the State of Arunachal Pradesh, Siga extended his gratitude to the APRB for coming in front to uplift the rural banking system and to provide a banking system to remote areas. It will provide credit linkage to the villagers especially to the women self helps groups, added Siga. He further appealed to other banks in the State to come forward and ink similar MoUs for the all-round development of the State. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Gupta stated: “The objective of the APRB is to reach the unreached. As of now, we have 30 branches and our endeavour in the coming days would be to expand our branches in different districts. APRB was established about 40 years ago but the sad part is that it hasn’t flourished yet. This is the State’s own bank; it is the bank of the indigenous people of the State and so the objective of the bank is to confer all possible help for the uplift of its people.”
