Three NSCN cadres arrested in Arunachal Pradesh

GUWAHATI: Troops of the Army in a joint operation with Arunachal Pradesh Police apprehended two cadres and an Over Ground Worker (OGW) belonging to NSCN (IM) near Zedua in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on June 23. Based on a specific input, the joint team launched an operation and apprehended the individuals from the area. The two apprehended persons have been identified as self-styled Sergeant Major Takha Naham, self-styled private Tonglong Wangjen and OGW Chakpha Wangsu.

It is suspected that the individuals were actively involved in anti-national and extortion activities in the district. The team also recovered two Point 32 pistols, six live rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, 10 gms of opium and Rs 5000 in cash from the insurgents, stated a release.

The apprehended individuals along with recovered items have been handed over to Longding Police Station for further investigations.
