Four Assaulted by Miscreants at Lumjingsuk in Shillong

SHILLONG: Four people residing at Lumjingsuk, Block A, Madanriting, Shillong were assaulted by around eight miscreants during the early hours of January 1, at about 5 am.

Two of the victims are members of the Hyniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) Nongthymmai Circle –Francis Sohtun and Joy Phankon – including Benjamin Wankhar and Franky Sohtun. After the incident, the victims filed an FIR on the following day at Madanriting Police Station.

In the FIR filed by the victims they have identified the people involved in assaulting them as Jack Kharmuti from Pdengshnong, Bicky Kharkongor, Stony Kharkongor and Willy Kharkongor from Happy Valley, Pynïo Kharkongor and Edie Kharkongor from Pata, Block C, Wanpynskhem Kharumnuid and U Bicky Lama from Lumjingsuk, Block A.

“There are others besides these eight people who assaulted who are also carrying with them bottles, Khukri, stones and rods and we don’t know why they have assaulted us,” the four victims said in the FIR.
