The San Gabriel Valley girls basketball top 10 rankings are comprised of teams from the Whittier Daily News, San Gabriel Valley Tribune and Pasadena Star-News coverage areas.

GIRLS BASKETBALL TOP 10

1. Flintridge Prep (16-4)

Previous: 1

Handled Westridge and Pasadena Poly fairly easily and shouldn’t have any trouble against Rio Hondo Prep. Probably won’t get tested again until the playoffs.

2. St. Paul (17-4)

Previous: 3

Big victory over La Salle and made it look easy 65-47 to take control of the Camino Real League.

3. Keppel (14-6)

Previous: 2

The Aztecs won their 94th straight Almont League game with a 43-23 win over San Gabriel. They are fourth in the CIF-SS record book for consecutive league games won.

4. Los Altos (17-2)

Previous: 4

Madelyn Roel has been sensational for the Conquerors, and they had a big blowout win over rival Walnut to take control of the Hacienda.

5. Whittier Christian (19-2)

Previous: 5

As good as its record is, it’s still second in the Olympic behind Village Christian, who it plays this week.

6. Bonita (13-7)

Previous: 8

Undefeated in the Palomares League but will have to beat Glendora again on Friday to all but secure the title.

7. Glendora (15-7)

Previous: 9

Bounced backed nicely since its only league loss, to Bonita, and will get the rematch with the Bearcats on Friday.

8. La Salle (16-4)

Previous: 6

Has lost its two biggest league games, to St. Mary’s Academy and last week to St. Paul.

9. Bishop Amat (12-5)

Previous: 7

Not a great start in the Del Rey league with a loss to Serra last week. But still could be a threat in the playoffs.

10. Covina (13-7)

Previous: 10

The Colts came back and won a thrilling game against defending league champion Northview, and earlier in the week took down San Dimas.
