As of Monday May 25, 2020, there were at least 5,565 documented cases of the novel coronavirus in San Gabriel Valley communities, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

There have been 296 total COVID-19 deaths in the San Gabriel Valley.

In the San Gabriel Valley, not including Pasadena, 51,310 people have been tested for the virus.

Between 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday, there were 286 new cases and 3 more deaths in the San Gabriel Valley area.

The San Gabriel Valley communities with the most overall cases of COVID-19 are Pasadena with 883, El Monte with 456, and Montebello with 355.

MAP: This map shows how coronavirus has struck much of LA County

Outside of the San Gabriel Valley, there are a total of 3,261 cases and 134 deaths in Whittier and its surrounding communities.

The Burbank-Glendale area, including La Canada Flintridge, has 1,411 cases and 123 deaths.

The cities and unincorporated areas of Pomona and Claremont have 436 cases and 11 deaths.

There could be more cases in any of these areas. The county is still investigating 1,991 possible COVID-19 cases and hasn’t yet released information on where those patients live in the county.

And due to the limited availability of COVID-19 tests, officials have said there are many more people infected with the novel coronavirus than are represented in these numbers.

As of 8 p.m. Monday across Los Angeles County, the health departments of LA County and the cities of Pasadena and Long Beach have recorded 47,875 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Of the 47,875 patients with positive COVID-19 tests, 6,195 have been hospitalized.

There have been 2,145 deaths in the county due to the virus.

Between Sunday and Monday, there were 1,852 new cases and 29 deaths across LA County.

The county’s data is released in the afternoon and covers the period of time ending at 8 p.m. the previous day.

Totals for Long Beach and Pasadena are provided by those cities’ public health departments.

Community-level data from Los Angeles County includes the number of positive cases, deaths and COVID-19 tests administered along with percentages of the area’s population for each.

Rates of infection, death and testing that are provided by LA County are age-adjusted to account for differences in the distribution of age in the underlying population, said county officials. The adjusted rates are useful for comparing rates between cities and communities that have different age distributions.

For complete totals, check the health department’s coronavirus location page at http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/Coronavirus/locations.htm, the Pasadena site at https://www.cityofpasadena.net/public-health/news-announcements/information-on-covid-19 and the Long Beach site at http://www.longbeach.gov/health/diseases-and-condition/information-on/coronavirus.
