Dense fog to hit Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad

Fog in Delhi

Finally there is a possibility that Delhi, NCR and adjoining areas of Haryana might wake up to a canopy of dense fog tomorrow morning. Dense fog has remained absent from the national capital this season.

After recent rains in Delhi NCR, humid easterly winds have now changed their direction and are presently blowing from northerly/north-west direction. These winds are cold and dry in nature since they are coming from snow-clad Western Himalayas. Due to these winds, night temperatures are going to drop over entire northwestern plains of the country including capital region, Delhi and NCR.

Light winds, drop in temperatures and availability of humidity in the atmosphere leads to the formation of fog. The blanket of dense fog is expected in Haryana, Delhi and NCR. This could possibly be Delhi’s first dense fog of this winter season.

Thick and dense fog in Haryana, Delhi and NCR might disrupt several flights and trains. There are chances of slow traffic and departures from the Delhi airport can be put on hold. Amidst this, one can also expect that the poor visibility might just hit the arrivals as well.

As per Skymet weather, on February 2, there are chances of Cold Day like conditions as well.
