The Monsoon rains have remained unstoppable in Madhya Pradesh since the second half of July. And more heavy spells to the tune of 60 to 80 mm are likely to hit the state, which could cause some trouble in the low-lying areas.
According to our meteorologists, the Low-Pressure Area is over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar. This system is moving southwards towards the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
In the wake of this movement, rain and thundershower activities would continue in many parts of the region for at least next three to four days, with intensity varying between light and moderate. A few heavy spells to the tune of 60 to 80 mm may also lash Madhya Pradesh, causing some trouble in the low-lying areas.
During the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday, many parts of the state have observed moderate rains with one or two heavy spells. Khajuraho recorded 62 mm of rains, while Guna and Raisen observed 41 mm and 29 mm of rain, respectively.
These rains will continue for the next few days but any severe weather activity like heavy rain is ruled out. There is no threat of flood in the state either.
The weather in most parts would remain pleasant and comfortable with on and off rains until August 25. Thereafter, rainfall activities will taper over the region and continue to be light in intensity.
Thus, it is right to say that the month is going to end on a good note for Madhya Pradesh in terms of Monsoon activities.
