pleasant weather in hills

During the last 24 hours, fairly widespread rain and thundershower activity occurred over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. A few heavy spells were also witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Now, the Western Disturbance is gradually moving away but we expect good rains to continue in the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and also at a few places in Uttarakhand until June 6. Thereafter, the Western Disturbance will move away but very light rains may continue over some parts over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Thereafter, the weather will become very pleasant.

This is also the most ideal period for tourists to visit the hill states. Places like Vaishno Devi, Auli, Dharamshala, Nainital, Mussoorie, and Rishikesh are already witnessing a boom in tourism due to their usually pleasant weather conditions.

Now, we do not expect any significant heavy rainfall or any major weather activity in the hills as of now. If it will rain, the intensity will only be light. Chances of mudslides, landslides, cloudbursts and waterlogging are almost ruled out.

The next Western Disturbance is about to reach the hills on June 10. During this period also we do not expect any heavy to very heavy rains. So, for the next week or so the weather in the hills will remain cool and pleasant.
