Anna Stembridge has called on Team Bath to respond to their latest defeat when they take on undefeated Wasps in the Vitality Netball Superleague on Friday.

The Blue and Gold suffered a disappointing defeat at Saracens Mavericks on Monday night in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

They are now hoping for an instant response with home matches against leaders Wasps and third-placed Manchester Thunder in the space of a week.

Team Bath have been missing co-captains and England Commonwealth champions Serena Guthrie and Eboni Usoro-Brown through illness and injury but Stembridge says her players are ready for the challenge.

The girls were obviously disappointed on Saturday but they are looking forward to getting back into training, getting back in front of the home fans and putting out a good performance.

"In many ways it could not be better for us, facing Wasps after that Mavericks setback," she said. "You want to test yourselves against the best teams in the league and we know we have to be better than we were at the weekend, plus we'll have a sell-out home crowd cheering us on.

"Wasps have made a strong start to the season but both Mavericks and London Pulse had really good games against them and put them under real pressure. This league is extremely close and competitive, and the results so far have shown that anyone can beat anyone.

"The girls were obviously disappointed on Saturday but they are looking forward to getting back into training, getting back in front of the home fans and putting out a good performance."
