Mark Bartley has full confidence in his squad as they face a busy spell over the coming weeks.

The Blues take on Hertford Town this weekend in league action, before facing off against Slough Town for a place in the final of the Berks and Bucks Cup, before rounding off their three-game run with a crunch match against Bracknell Town.

Bartley’s men over came Ashford Town by a goal to nil on Saturday thanks to a goal from Captain Chris Ovenden as kept the pressure on second placed Bracknell.

“Ashford Town are always scrappy games,” Bartley said.

“The wind didn’t help but we know we needed three points and at this stage of the season that’s what’s important.

“We knew we would have a couple of blips but the response to those has been really good. We had positive results after the Chipstead game, really good results against Cheshunt, Tooting and Mitcham and Hayes and we made a good account of ourselves.”

The win keeps Marlow’s fantastic run of late going, as they have now gone over six hours without conceding a goal as they march towards the play-offs. And with important games right around the corner Bartley isn’t afraid to make changes.

“We talk about it all the time and regardless of the opponent we know we can get a good result.

“And I’m able to make changes to make sure we stay fresh and keep our energies up.

“Versatility and being able to change things are really pleasing for me.”

The Blues will have a tough ask to progress to the final of the Berks and Bucks cup as they host Slough Town on Tuesday night before returning to Oak Tree road four days later in a game that may decide second place, against rivals Bracknell Town.

“We want to win every game,” added Bartley.

“In the grand scheme of things if you offered me either promotion or winning the Berks and Bucks cup, I would take promotion. But I’d want both if I could. We’ve been at full tilt recently and we will have to be against Slough. It will be a tough test against a side that are two leagues above us.”

The Blues travel to  Hertford Town at 3pm on Saturday and Bartley knows that it will be another tough test for his side.

“ We have a few aches and pains ahead of Saturday.” Bartley said.

“We know Hertford aren’t great defensively but they are dangerous going forwards.

“We need to be at full throttle – we expect them to attack like they did against Bracknell a few weeks ago and they will want to end our streak but we need to just go there and be professional.”

A win for Marlow would be their fifth in a row and would pile the pressure on Bracknell Town in second.Only a point separates the two sides and with the two teams meeting a week on Saturday, it’s important the Blues do not slip up against Hertford.
