Salt Lake City might get close to record high temperature Wednesday, topping even St. George

Salt Lake City could get as warm as 73 degrees Wednesday — a few sun rays short of a record.

The city reached 76 degrees in 1895, according to the National Weather Service, which is also the agency that forecast Wednesday’s weather.

Northern Utah is supposed to be warmer than the south Wednesday. The St. George Airport is expecting a high of 49 degrees.

Both regions cool Thursday. Rain is expected in Salt Lake City and elsewhere in northern Utah.
