Utah vs. BYU football rivalry game will have a late-night kickoff; so will Utah State-Boise State showdown

FS1 will televise the Utes and Cougars at 8 pm. on Nov. 24

(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham high-fives fans after the win as BYU hosts Utah, NCAA football in Provo, Saturday September 9, 2017.

The football rivalry game between Utah and BYU will kick off at 8 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Rice-Eccles Stadium, the Pac-12 announced Monday.

Word also came down Monday that the Nov. 24 game pitting No. 14 Utah State and No. 23 Boise State will kick off at 8:15 p.m. The Aggies and Broncos could be playing for the Mountain West Conference’s Mountain Division title in that game.

Fox Sports selected the game for an FS1 telecast in that late television window, as was the case for Utah's game vs. Colorado in the 2017 regular-season finale.

ESPN or ESPN 2 will televise the USU-Boise State contest.

The other Nov. 24 game of potential significance to Utah's Pac-12 South title hopes is Arizona vs. Arizona State. That game is scheduled at 1:30 p.m.

Utah (5-3 in conference play), Arizona (4-3) and ASU (4-3) are the only teams still in contention for the division championship. If the Utes win Saturday at Colorado and ASU loses that night at Oregon, Utah will clinch a berth in the Pac-12 title game. If both Utah and ASU win this week, the race would be extended to the final day, with other scenarios also in play. Arizona plays at No. 8 Washington State on Saturday.
