Yesterday, as the first portion of the Division 1 baseball rankings came out, we saw that West Virginia Baseball was ranked in both D1Baseball.com and Baseball America national rankings. Now we know that Randy Mazey and ace pitcher Alek Manoah have helped this squad to rankings in all six major polls.

D1Baseball.com - 17th

Baseball America - 18th

National College Baseball Writers of America - 23rd. The Mountaineers are ahead of Texas (25th), who they play in Austin this weekend, but behind Baylor, who swept the Mountaineers earlier this year and TCU, who the Mountaineers will take on the following weekend.

Collegiate Baseball - 30th. This is the lowest of the rankings for the Mountaineers. The Mountaineers garnered only 425 points/votes in this poll, but they are finally ranked. Despite a similar record and a series win over Texas Tech, Collegiate Baseball has the Red Raiders at 21st.

RPI - 19th. This metric, which at one point over the weekend had the Mountaineers has the highest ranked Big 12 team, currently has West Virginia 19th after they failed to complete a 3-game comeback sweep of Kansas.

USA Today Coaches Poll - 24th. The last poll of the collegiate baseball world has West Virginia at 24th overall, just ahead of this weekend’s opponent Texas. The Mountaineers are one of five Big 12 teams ranked between 18th and 25.
