PEOPLE hoping to drop off items at a recycling centre in Taunton are being advised to stay away unless absolutely necessary.

Somerset Waste is warning people of long queues at the Priorswood facility this morning (Friday).

The site, one of 11 opened bewteen 9am and 6pm, re-opened this week following the coronavirus lockdown closure.

A Somerset West social media message says: "Long queues likely when 11 sites reopen 9am-6pm Fri.

"Don't go to recycle site unless waste cannot be stored safely at home without risking harm/ill-health to you/your household."
