A DIRECTOR of a sports ground has been holding talks with a group of travellers who have set up there.
Several travellers, who had previously camped at Taunton Rugby Club, have now driven onto the pitch at Taunton Town Football Club.
Kevin Sturmey, chief executive and chairman of The Peacocks, said he hopes the group will soon leave the Cygnet Health Care Stadium, in Wordsworth Drive.
He said: "We have worked with them and helped them once they had got in and hope they will move on in the not too distant future.
"So far they have been respectful once we had the usual threats from a few of them.
"From our point of view, it will all be dealt with through the right channels and we will be making no further comments at this stage apart from a thank you to our friends and neighbours in Blackbrook, Halcon and Holway who have been contacting us to make sure we are OK."
