A Spanish restaurant in Bath which has been shut since October has closed its doors for good.

The once bustling Ole Tapas and Restaurant, of Saw Close, has been out of action for several months now.

Staff from the other Ole Tapas restaurant in John Street said that in October the Saw Close restaurant was shut because work needed to be done to fix some pipes in the kitchen.

Bath Live was told the problem had started a few weeks before and that the kitchen would need to be refurbished.

In a follow up call, Bath Live was told that Ole Tapas, where Gascoyne Place used to be, should be open again around Christmas time, or if not in the New Year.

In November, newspapers had been put up on the windows, which led to locals saying it looked like it had served its last meal.

A month later, Bath Live was told that they did not know if the eatery would reopen and the staff member would not say why.

After months of uncertainty, staff said that the Ole Tapas restaurant, which only opened in February 2018, would not reopen again.

Its more established sister restaurant, Ole Tapas in John Street, however, is still as busy and as popular as ever.

There are now more than 50 vacant premises in Bath.
