Film crews have taken over a central Bath park today filming for a new ITV detective drama.

A notice of filming has gone up at Parade Gardens warning that visitors could be caught on camera if they enter the park.

ITV recently announced a pair of feature-length films would be set in Bath, featuring The Crown's Jason Watkins and Cold Feet's Tala Gouveia.

Invisible  will see them investigate a murder in the city's high society and tackle an unexplained death in a private hospital for recovering addicts.

With ‘modern Bath’ providing the backdrop for the series – film crews are likely to be spotted around the city on a number of occasions.

This morning crews were busy filming in Parade Gardens – but things seem to have slowed down this afternoon as rain set in.

The filming notice, despite being outside Parade Gardens, actually says ‘Abbey Church Yard,’ implying filming is taking place there too.

ITV has ordered the films from Mammoth Screen, the producer behind Victoria and Poldark.

Trollied and W1A star Watkins, who will play former prime minister Harold Wilson in series three of Netflix's The Crown, takes on the role of shy and retiring DS Dodds, who is paired with Gouveia's ambitious DCI McDonald.

Recently transferred from south London, McDonald is driven and aspirational while Dodds has spent much of her career on the sidelines.

However, working alongside his new partner, Dodds discovers a knack for deciphering puzzles.

A release date is yet to be announced.
