Firefighters were called to a large fire involving a slurry tank in Wells.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a large vehicle on fire in Green Ore just before 4pm yesterday (Friday, October 4).

Two fire engines from Wells and Shepton Mallet were sent to the incident.

The fire service reports one large agricultural slurry sprayer was "well alight" in a field.

Crews then requested the attendance of an road vehicle from Wells.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire using one attack jet and one thermal imaging camera.

The fire was believed to have been started accidentally.
