The emergency services were called to a "medical incident" in Glastonbury town centre on Friday evening.

A photo taken at the scene shows an ambulance, two police cars, and officers responding to the call out.

Avon and Somerset police received a call from a member of the public concerned about someone on Glastonbury High Street at around 6pm today (May 15).

The force said it was a "medical incident" and they assisted the South Western Ambulance Service.

Police said the patient was then taken to hospital.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: "We were called to a concern for welfare incident at about 6pm.

"It was a medical incident, where we assisted ambulance.

"The patient was taken to hospital."
