One of the hardest parts of life is saying goodbye to a loved one.

But it is hugely important they are given a proper send off, to let people know of their passing, and also to tell people who they were and how important they were to their family.

Below is the list of notices of deaths and upcoming funerals that have been submitted to our newspapers over the last week.

Many are inviting loved ones to attend memorial services later in the year, once the coronavirus pandemic is over, while others are offering a way to donate to a charity in their memory.

What are the rules regarding funerals?

Angela Ward at GoSimply Funerals has explained the rules regarding funerals during the coronavirus lock down.

The rules for which there is no leeway:

· There is a maximum of 10 mourners allowed at the crematorium

· The curtains must be closed during the service

· There is no shouldering of the coffin at all

· The second doctor signature for the cremation form is not currently needed

· Registering a death is happening online or on the phone and all paperwork is being sent direct to the crematorium

· No-one who is self-isolating should be attending and social distancing must be observed.

These are the additional guidelines around which there may be some aspects of discretion according to the different funeral directors:

· Most funeral directors are not allowing chapel visits, but some are allowing visits for one or two people only

· Services are being limited to immediate family only with up to five people, but funerals are being streamed online

· Dressing and embalming - especially of COVID victims is not happening
