Somerset could be set for a break from the rain next week, with the downpours set to ease off and 20C heat coming our way.

The rain has seemed endless this week, and will continue until Saturday (June 15) and Sunday (June 16).

However, the start of the following week looks clear for a lot of areas in Somerset and beyond, with the mercury set to soar.

Although the break from the rain may not last long, it could be a good change to enjoy some sun before the county is drenched once again.

Here is a town by town forecast for Somerset for the weekend and the beginning of next week.

Yeovil

Yeovil is set for another wet weekend with a 40-80 per cent chance of rain between 6am and 2pm on Saturday, and a 40 per cent chance of rain on Sunday.

However, Tuesday (June 18) could see highs of 21C and there is little chance of rain throughout the day.

Wednesday (June 19) could see similar temperatures before the return of the rain on Thursday (June 20).

Taunton

Taunton is likely to see more rain than Yeovil, with the county town only getting two days break from the rain, according to the Met Office.

The town will likely be free of rain on Monday and Tuesday, with highs of 20C, however expect heavy rain across the weekend and towards the end of next week.

Bath

Bath is set for a very wet weekend. If you're heading to the Bath Races tomorrow expect to get drenched with a strong chance of rain between 9am and 4pm.

It will ease off at the start of the week, with sunshine and highs of 21C on Tuesday before a wet end to next week.

Frome

Frome is also set for a warm blast and could even seen some sun over the weekend.

There is a 50 per cent chance of rain at around midday but it will get sunnier and drier towards the end of the day. There will be highs of 21C at the beginning of next week before more rain on Wednesday and Thursday.

Glastonbury

Between today (June 14) and Sunday, Glastonbury is set for a lot of rain in the middle of the day. Things should ease off in the evenings and as we head into Monday the rain will stop, says the Met Office.

However, like much of the county, the rain will start again by Wednesday.

Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare may have less rain than the rest of the county and could be in for a dry Saturday afternoon. There will be a chance of rain between 10am and 7pm on Sunday.

Similar to the rest of the county, Monday and Tuesday will be warm and dry before the return of the rain on Wednesday.

Bridgwater

Bridgwater will be wet for most of Saturday and Sunday with highs of 17C over the weekend.

That temperature will rise to 20C by Tuesday and will remain warm among the rain during Wednesday and Thursday.
