A section of a road in Yeovil was coned off last night (June 15) to allow police to conduct random vehicle spot checks.

Lysander Road was shut while the force stopped and spoke to a number of drivers.

Officers found a number of offences being committed and seized one vehicle which had no insurance.

A post on Twitter added that the checks would continue and encouraged drivers to wear a seatbelt.

It has not released further details.
