Here are the details of people convicted at Taunton Magistrates' Court from June 7 onwards.

Magistrates deal with more than 90 per cent of criminal cases including low-level offences such as assaults and motoring charges.

June 7

David Brown, 39, Lindley House, Taunton, damaged a lottery display board belonging to the Co-op in Taunton, assaulted a man, failed to surrender to custody at Taunton Magistrates' Court and breached a conditional discharge. He was ordered to pay a £14 fine and £85 victim surcharge.

Steven Careslade, 35, of Cherry Avenue, Clevedon, stole items from Tesco on five occasions. Magistrates sentenced him to eight weeks in prison and he was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Christopher Hill, 55, of Townsend, Williton, was caught speeding on the A38 in Devon in July 2018. His driving licence was endorsed with three points and he was ordered to pay a £207 fine and a £30 victim surcharge.

Wayne Shorney, 43, of Marwood Close, Burnham-on-Sea, damaged a motorcycle to the value of £407.36 without lawful exuse. He was issued a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £407.36 in compensation, £40 in court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Graham Drysdale, 46, of Laxton Road, Taunton, wielded a large kitchen knife in a public place. He received a three-month prison sentence, suspended for six months. He was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Fiona Brazendale, 29, of Queens Road, Somerton, was caught speeding on the A303 in September 2018. Her driving licence was endorsed with four points and he was ordered to pay a £216 fine, costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

Adrian Burt, 59, of Orchard Place, Aller, was caught speeding at 55mph on the B3153. His driving licence was endorsed with six points and he was ordered to pay a £150 fine, costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

Bradley Cook, 18, of Parkway, Bridgwater, drove a dirt bike without a driving licence or insurance and no valid MOT certificate. His driving licence was endorsed with eight points and he was ordered to pay a £120 fine, costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

Richard Dix, 55, of Kingfisher Close, Torquay, was caught speeding at 87mph on the M5 northbound between junctions 16 and 17. His driving licence was endorsed with three points and he was ordered to pay a £166 fine, £30 victim surcharge and costs of £85.

Jessica Kimmins, 29, of Newton, Bridgwater, drove a vehicle without insurance. Her driving licence was endorsed with six points and he was ordered to pay a £184 fine, costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

Ryan Lock, 24, of Inner Circle, Taunton, drove a vehicle without due care or attention and without a driving licence or insurance. His driving licence was endorsed with eight points and he was ordered to pay a £120 fine, costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.

Gyuner Shukri, 41, of St John Street, Bridgwater, drove a vehicle without insurance. He was banned from driving for six months and he was ordered to pay a £350 fine, costs of £85 and a £35 victim surcharge.

June 12

Leiran Forward, 20, of North Street, Wellington, admitted breaching a community order by failing to attend appointments with supervising officer. He was ordered to pay no costs.

Thomas Webber, 28, of Winchester Street, Taunton, admitted breaching a community order by failing to attend appointments with supervising officer. He was ordered to pay no costs.
