Here are the details of people convicted at Taunton Magistrates' Court from Friday, August 9.

Magistrates deal with more than 90 per cent of criminal cases, including low-level assaults and motoring offences.

August 9

Adam Bowers, 30, of Cherrytree Crescent, Bristol, was banned from driving for 46 months after he was caught drink driving in Worle, Weston-super-Mare and without a licence and insurance. He was sentenced to prison for 12 weeks and was ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.

Lamar Burris, 22, of Daisy Road, Birmingham, breached a community protection notice which banned him from entering an area of Weston-super-Mare. He was ordered to pay £85 in court costs, £40 fine and a £32 victim surcharge.

Darren Davis, 40, of Highbridge Road, Burnham-on-Sea, stole alcohol from Asda and a charity collection tin from Burnham-on-Sea RNLI. He also was caught in possession of a Class B drug. He was issued a community order and ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge, £85 in court costs and £10 in compensation.

Lewis Hawkes, 21, of Whitehall Drive, Bridgwater, drove a vehicle without insurance on the A39 Dunball in Bridgwater. His driving licence was endorsed with six points and he was ordered to pay a £80 fine, £85 in costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Borislav Momchev, 30, of Cheddon Road, Taunton, was caught speeding on A527 Biddulph Road. His driving licence was endorsed with three points and he was ordered to pay a £55 fine, £85 in costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Daniel Goddard-Watts, 52, of Barnsclose West, Dulverton, persistently made use of a public electronic communications network for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another. He was issued a community order and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £85 victim surcharge.

Mark Rainey, 43, of Duke Street, Taunton, failed to give information about a driver alleged to have committed an offence. His driving licence was endorsed with six points and he was ordered to pay a £184 fine, £85 in costs and £30 victim surcharge.

August 12

Darran Hebert, 42, of Barn Meadow Lane, Great Bookham, sent a number of texts and emails to a woman which caused distress or anixety. He was issued a community order and ordered to pay £239.98 in compensation and £85 victim surcharge.

Michael Davis, 37, of no fixed address, used threatening or abusive words or behaviour which was likely to cause offence in Bridgwater. He was issued a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay court costs of £40 and £21 victim surcharge.

Craig Larvin, 24, of Summer Road, Stockland Green, assaulted a man in Minehead. He was ordered to pay a £60 fine, £100 in compensation, £400 in court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

August 14

Brendan Anderson, 42, of Hilly Park, Norton Fitzwarren, failed to comply with the requirements of a community order. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £70 in costs.

Wayne Savage, 35, of Sparks Way, Highbridge, failed to comply with the requirements of a community order. He was fined £120.
