A group of travellers pitched up at a park in Taunton earlier today (June 11).

Photos show several cars and caravans settling in at Eastwick Park, off Priorswood Road, at around 4pm on Tuesday.

According to a local resident, this is the third time in four years travellers have pitched up at the park.

On Friday, a number of caravans were spotted at the Gateway park and ride service in Taunton.

The site was temporarily closed as Somerset County Council officials arrived at the site.

The closure caused a headache for cricket fans who wanted to park and catch buses into town for the Afghanistan v New Zealand match at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Saturday (June 8).

But the park and ride was reopened on Monday (June 10).
