If there's one thing that Brits can all agree on, it is our love of the humble roast dinner.
Admittedly, they take a lot of effort and patience to pull off and for some, it is just another addition to Sunday’s list of chores.
Andrés Kitchen in Wells provides the perfect solution.
The restaurant has introduced a Sunday roast delivery service that enables you to enjoy a fuss-free roast in the comfort of your own home.
Chef, Andrés Wintersgill said: “I’ve been a chef for 32 years now and it’s always been in the back of my mind to do a delivery service.
“We used to like going out on a Sunday but as a family of three we were spending £60 a head and the food was never consistent.
“I’m very passionate about what I do and I like to make sure all the flavours are there and everything is cooked to perfection.”
Fear not, you won’t find a carton of dry meat, soggy potatoes and cold gravy delivered to your front door.
To ensure customers enjoy a fresh and fragrant roast dinner, it is delivered part cooked for customers finish off the cooking process.
By following a few simple instructions, a restaurant-standard roast will be on the table within 30 minutes without the fuss of cooking and washing up.
The home-delivered roast costs £12.50 for adults and £8.50 for children, just £2.50 more than a Sunday lunch eaten at the restaurant.
There is also a vegetarian option.
For the ultimate Sunday fix, you can add a pudding for an extra £2.50. This Sunday, a triple chocolate and pecan brownie with warm chocolate sauce and ice cream is on the menu.
Mr Wintersgill says he has big plans for the future and has already planned to expand the delivery service.
From Saturday, April 6, customers will be able to order a 3 course menu with a bottle of wine for just £20 a head.
Locals have taken to the Andrés Kitchen Facebook page to leave rave reviews.
“Every meal we have had from Andre and Sue has been fantastic. Delicious food, delivered with a smile, easy to follow instructions and no washing up. What’s not to like?”, one user wrote.
A Wells resident said: “One of the best roast dinners we have had in ages! All from the comfort of our own home.”
“The feedback has been overwhelming.”, Mr Wintersgill said.
“It’s absolutely flying. The concept has the potential to go massive.”
Andrés Kitchen currently only delivers in Wells but the owners are planning to go wider in the future.
