Yeovil Town will sort out their ownership before announcing a new manager.

Club chairman John Fry said The Glovers will not be able to confirm who will be tasked with getting them back into the English Football League (EFL) until they have finalised the potential sale of the club.

He confirmed there is a shortlist of potential buyers and that "a range of applicants" have been spoken to in relation to the manager's role.

Fry said: “Over the last two weeks we have reduced the numerous parties expressing an interest down to a shortlist and a decision on which one to adopt will be made over the next few days.”

On the managerial situation, he said: “We are very aware of the need to appoint a manager as soon as possible and we have spoken to a range of applicants to date. Some of these are nationally known names, others are more local candidates.

“The appointment of a manager has been complicated by the potential change of ownership, so we therefore expect the new manager to be confirmed when the ownership situation has been resolved.”

The Glovers have been without a permanent manager since Darren Way was sacked in March and without one of any kind since interim boss Neale Marmon left at the beginning of the month.

It has been a very frustrating couple of weeks for the long-suffering supporters who have had to deal with League Two relegation, followed by the collapse of the takeover by Rob Couhig Jr.

Since then, there have been several weeks without any positive news to get excited when pre-season is fast approaching and what is a very thin squad of only 13 senior players needs rebuilding.

Supporters have been venting their concerns on Twitter...
