Some truly great players have represented Bath Rugby since the club was formed in 1865.

From World Cup winners and British & Irish Lions to stalwarts and crowd favourites, Blue, Black and White history is illuminated by names that evoke fond memories.

More than 2,000 men have played for Bath FC and the professional outfit that replaced it in 1996, Bath Rugby, but who would make it into your ultimate XV?

With the expert help of John Carter - one of the Bath Rugby Heritage team compiling the archives - to produce a manageable vote we've picked out every player known to have made more than 100 first-team appearances.

We've split our polls into forwards and backs across two articles, with the one below designed to create the perfect pack.

Openside flanker Phil Hall holds the all-time appearance record with what must surely be an unassailable 580, although according to the farmer from Tormarton it was actually 585.

But will he get the nod over the likes of hugely successful captains Roger Spurrell and Andy Robinson?

Some players - like front-row legend Gareth Chilcott - could play in more than one position, which is reflected in the poll.

We've included players from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when positions were much more fluid. In some cases, a judgment call has been made as to what position suits them best.

Due to the 100-cap cut-off, some fan favourites such as Zak Feaunati and Leroy Houston are not included in the vote. They didn't quite make it to a century of appearances during their spells at the club.

The poll is now closed. Here is the resulting XV.
