These are the 38 Weston-super-Mare restaurants now offering takeaways with Deliveroo

A popular food delivery app has made its way to Weston-super-Mare and almost 40 restaurants will be offering a takeaway service.

Deliveroo will feature some of the town's favourite independent restaurants including Scotty's Kitchen and Bodega Grill, as well as some well-known high street brands like Pizza Express and Miss Millie's.

The British food delivery company has partnered with 38 restaurants and takeaways across Weston-super-Mare.

Deliveroo's regional director, Harrison Foster said: "Launching in Weston-super-Mare is a key milestone for Deliveroo. The town has a thriving foodie community and a wide range of restaurants, so we’re excited to connect them."

"We look forward to working with our new restaurant partners to reach a new customer base and expand their businesses."

The Weston-super-Mare rollout comes after the app giant launched a 'restaurant rescue team' in August in a bid to 'support struggling high street favourites'.

The company claims, that within the first year it expects to create more than 50 jobs in the local area.

To celebrate the launch Deliveroo will be in Weston town centre this Saturday (August 17) giving away hundreds of free doughnuts and will offer residents a 30 per cent discount off orders over the next four weeks.

Weston is 1 of 50 towns and cities Deliveroo will have expanded over the summer and autumn. It aims to be available to more than half the population in the UK by the end of 2019.

What are calories and should my daily intake be?

Calories are very much dependent on how much energy that your food and drink contains, as well as your age, metabolism and how much activity you are undertaking.

Having said that, there are guidelines as to what a recommended daily calorie intake should be.

A man needs around 10,500kJ (2,500kcal) a day to maintain his weight (based on a healthy, balanced diet).
