The Manic Street Preachers appear to have confirmed they will be appearing at Glastonbury Festival 2020.

The Welsh four-piece rock band, who headlined the Pyramid Stage in 1999 alongside REM, have indicated themselves that they will be returning to Worthy Farm once again.

The band uploaded a cryptic post to Instagram showing a board seeming to detail potential setlists for the upcoming festival season, titled 'Possible songlist for the summer'.

Among the following list, presumably a hint at events the band will play, 'Glasto' is the first name identified.

The post is accompanied by a row of brown heart emojis.

There has not been any official word on the presence of the band at Worthy Farm by the festival organisers at this time, however.

If this statement by the band is confirmed, the Welsh band will become just the sixth artist confirmed by the organisers to appear at the festival ahead of a larger lineup reveal expected to be coming soon, although no date or clue has been given on when this will be.

The excerpt of the proposed setlist shown in the photo includes Manics hits 'Rock and Roll Music', 'Feels Like Heaven' and 'Damn Dog' as well as presumed covers of Guns N' Roses' 'Sweet Child O' Mine' and 'Take the Skinheads Bowling' by Camper Van.

Who is confirmed already for Glastonbury 2020?

If they do indeed appear, the Manic Street Preachers will join already-confirmed acts like Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney on the Glastonbury bill.

Diana Ross was the first artist to be confirmed for the festival, and she will occupy the Sunday afternoon 'legends' slot at the event in 2020.

Lana Del Rey has also been confirmed to play on the Pyramid Stage in February, although a tour cancellation due to illness in late February had fans worried she would not be able to fill the slot.

London four-piece Wolf Alice are also set to appear, having been identified by Michael Eavis as one act that will be present in 2020.

Clairo has also stated publicly she will perform at the festival but there has been no word on this from organisers.

There have been no further confirmations from the Glastonbury organisers beyond those artists at this time but plenty of hints have been dropped regarding potential performers.

Bombay Bicycle Club and Aerosmith are among those to have dropped major hints regarding appearances at Worthy Farm but again no confirmations have been forthcoming from Michael or Emily Eavis as yet.
