Indie Duo Alexander Jean Thanks BTS's RM After Their Song Tops Korean Music Chart

American duo Alexander Jean has expressed their gratitude to BTS’s RM for bringing their song to the attention of Korean fans!

On July 12, RM took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the music he was listening to at the time: Alexander Jean’s “Whiskey and Morphine,” a song off their 2016 debut EP “Head High.”

Shortly afterwards, Alexander Jean responded on their official Twitter account, “Thx for the love.” A few hours later, as more and more BTS fans started taking an interest in the song, the duo added, “Sending love to all the new friends enjoying, streaming & sharing our song. We appreciate you all.”

By July 14 KST, “Whiskey and Morphine” had hit No. 1 on Apple Music’s Singer/Songwriter chart in Korea, and Alexander Jean celebrated by thanking RM in a new Twitter post.

The duo wrote, “Whiskey & Morphine is #1 in South Korea on the singer/songwriter Apple Music chart. Thank you for the love RM & BTS. Sending love to the BTS ARMY & all our new friends sharing & streaming our song ‘Whiskey & Morphine.'”
