The Summer Reading Program at Sterling Public Library is nearing the end. Don’t forget to turn in your reading sheets by 5:00 p.m. on July 26.

SPLs Monday Library Space Mission program on July 22 at 2:00 p.m. is “Wonders of the Universe.” Denise will share stories and fun facts about the universe. The days craft will be making a comet.

On July 22 at 6:00 p.m. will have a special performer. Charlie “the Noiseguy” Williams will provide us with a fun show. He is a sound impressionist, comedian, illustrator and\ author who shows how to use onomatopoeia to enhance reading, writing and storytelling.

On Wednesday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. is Chess Club. Kids age 10 to 15 years can meet at the library to play chess. If you don’t know how to play chess, but would like to learn please join the group as they are great about teaching new players.

The Family Book Club will meet on Thursday, July 25 at 6:00 p.m. This month the books are “Charlie Numb3rs and the Man in the Moon” by Ben and Tonya Mezrich or “Hidden Figures” by Margot Lee Shetterly. Copies of the book are available at the library. For more information about the book club you may call the library at 522-2023.

The last Summer Teen Movie Night will be on July 25. The movie will start at 5:15 p.m. Drinks and refreshments are provided.

On July 23 at 6:00 p.m. is It’s Not Rocket Science for adults. This month is Campfire Cooking with Sterling Boy Scouts. They will provide us with tips and tricks for cooking outdoors.
