A DRAMATIC video has captured a man rescuing his horses from a flooded field in Monmouthshire over the weekend.
Gareth Silcox saved the animals from drowning in Gilwern, near Abergavenny, yesterday morning.
The footage was taken by his neighbour Becky Eardley.
Mr Silcox, and his friend Matthew Burton, had already freed one of the two horses that he owns.
Ms Eardley said: “They were so brave to go into the water to rescue them.
“The horses were shocked and shivering but quite calm considering what they had been through and were okay.”
The horse seen in the video was partially submerged and needed freeing after being stuck on a fence.
“It took about two hours to bring the animals to safety,” Ms Eardley added.
