A NEWPORT mum died in hospital two days after suffering a cardiac arrest at her home, a coroner was told.
Lisa Marshall, 42, collapsed at her home in the city on October 18 last year as a result of broncho-pneumonia and drug use.
In a written statement, Ms Marshall's partner of nearly 26 years said he had found her in the early hours of the morning, on her hands an knees and struggling to breathe.
When Ms Marshall's asthma inhaler did not have any effect, her partner called an ambulance and started CPR. Paramedics continued to treat her and took her to the Royal Gwent Hospital.
There, Ms Marshall's condition deteriorated despite treatment, and she died on October 20.

Ms Saunders noted post mortem examination evidence of "widespread" pneumonia and also heard there had been evidence of drugs in Ms Marshall's home.
The inquest heard that Ms Marshall had been recovering from drug dependency, but had relapsed after her father died in 2018.
Ms Saunders recorded a narrative conclusion with the primary cause of death as brain and cardiac hypoxia, and expressed her condolences to Ms Marshall's loved ones.
