Against the background of major cuts in local government budgets, volunteers from the Dinefwr Ramblers have been working to assist Carmarthenshire County Council with footpath maintenance.

Work has been done in the Crychan Forest near Llandovery, which is an area that offers many opportunities for walking.

Volunteers have also been helping to improve the public footpath through the RSPB’s beautiful Dinas Reserve north of Rhandirmwyn.

Dinefwr Ramblers is the ramblers group for the Llandovery, Llandeilo and Ammanford areas.

The spring and summer walks programme produced by Dinefwr Ramblers is also now available at dinefwrramblers.org.uk.

walks to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the completion of the Wales Coast Path in May and using the new Heart of Wales Line Trail, both encouraged by the Ramblers, are featured in the programme along with a wide variety of other walks.

There is no need to become a Ramblers member for trial walks with the group.

For energetic and strenuous walks advance checking with the leaders about the level of difficulty is strongly advised.

Any changes to the walks will be shown on the website.
