Annual parking permits for Carmarthenshire’s coast and countryside attractions will be available to purchase online from April 1.

The permits will allow visitors to park at Carmarthenshire County Council’s pay and display car parks across the Millennium Coastal Park, Pembrey Country Park and Llyn Llech Owain, from just 7p a day.

A new barrier system with number plate recognition will also go live at Pembrey Country Park from Monday, April 8.

Permits can be bought online through the council’s website, or in person at the country park’s visitor centre, at the council’s Hwb in Llanelli and Ammanford town centres, and the customer services centre in Spilman Street, Carmarthen.

Permits will be dispatched by email for printing at home or by post, and are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Permits for Pembrey Country Park, open daily from 6am until10pm, are available from £50. Gift vouchers are also available.

For Millennium Coastal Park the permits are £37.50, and for Llyn Llech Owain, £25.

Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths, Executive Board Member for Culture, Sport and Tourism, said: “Our annual parking permits are a great option for those who love to visit and re-visit our most popular coast and countryside attractions, and offer significant savings for regular visitors.

“With the development of our systems, including the new barrier system at Pembrey Country Park, we are pleased to be able to offer online purchases for people to apply and pay on the go, any time they want.”
