Honolulu firefighters extinguish brush fire in Ewa Beach

Honolulu firefighters extinguished a small brush fire in Ewa Beach this afternoon.

The Honolulu Fire Department received a call around 11:19 a.m. of a brush fire near Asing Community Park.

HFD sent six units with 16 personnel to battle the brush fire about a quarter mile from the bike path on the Diamond Head side of Renton Road and Fort Weaver Road, said Capt. Scot Seguirant. The fire burned two acres, he said.

The first unit arrived on the scene at 11:28 a.m. The fire was fully contained at 12:56 p.m.

No injuries were reported. No structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
