Hawaii island firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out at a residential structure in Captain Cook Monday night.

Five units responded to the blaze at 92-9033 Tree Fern Lane at approximately 7:05 p.m.

When they arrived, they observed a two-story structure, which was under construction, fully engulfed in flames, according to a Hawaii County Fire Department news release. The fire also scorched nearby brush and power lines.

Firefighters brought the fire under control at 8:10 p.m. and extinguished it at 11:45 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $110,000.
