WILMINGTON -- Wilmington police are seeking a Fayetteville man they say struck another car and fled the scene.

Police have warrants for Robert Bratcher, 24, on charges of hit and run leaving the scene with property damage and improper backing, according to a news release from the Wilmington Police Department.

At about 1 p.m. Nov. 25, police say Bratcher backed into a woman's car at the intersection of Kornegay Avenue and Martin Luther King Parkway. According to the release, the woman followed Bratcher's car for several miles to 30th Street and Princess Place Drive. At that point, Bratcher allegedly got out of his car, shrugged at the woman, and fled once again, the release states.

The victim was able to get the car's registration number, and police tracked down the car's owner.

"Although the owner of the suspect vehicle was not the operator during the hit and run, the owner was cooperative and assisted in the investigation," the release states.

Anyone with information on the Bratcher's whereabuts is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department via 911, at 910-343-3609 or anonymously submit a tip via Text-A-Tip. Send “Tip708” and the information to 274637 (CRIMES).
