Wilmington crews handle fire on Oleander Drive

WILMINGTON -- Officials say a small fire at an Oleander Drive apartment complex started with a heater.

The Wilmington Fire Department responded at about 6 p.m. Tuesday to 2940 Oleander Drive, the Oleander Court Apartments. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke inside one of the apartments.

After investigating, crews determined the smoke was issuing from a heating unit and a tripped breaker, according to a news release. No one was injured in the fire, and no significant damage reported.

As of 6:30 p.m., fire crews were still on the scene.
