Man wanted in Wilmington fire chief assault

WILMINGTON -- Police are looking for a Wilmington man who is wanted for assaulting Wilmington Fire Chief Buddy Martinette, according to a Wilmington Police Department (WPD) release.

According to the release, Martinette responded to a traffic crash around 6 p.m. Tuesday at 16th and Dock streets.

As Martinette sat in his Wilmington Fire Department vehicle, the release said, Chadrick Tywain Conyers-Hall approached him and punched him twice in the face.

Per the release, Martinette was treated for minor injuries and released later that evening.

Conyers-Hall is wanted on charges of assaulting a government official. Police spokeswoman Linda Thompson said Conyers-Hall was a passenger in a car involved in the wreck.
